Throughout the year, the Literacy Network hosts events that promote the literacy issue and work to raise awareness, whether a fundraiser, a networking opportunity, or a professional development conference.

Our 2007 fundraising and awareness Literacy In Media Award event was held at the Beverly Hilton where we honored members of the entertainment industry for drawing attention to the importance of reading and writing through their work. |

The Annual Literacy Summit is a professional development conference for those working in the literacy field. We invite agencies from our network to participate in workshops lead by leaders in the field, hear inspirational and informative speakers, and share information amongst themselves. This year’s event will be held March 5 at the Skirball Cultural Center in West Los Angeles. |

On December 4, 2008 the first annual luncheon, “A Woman’s Story” was held at the Beverly Hilton. Business and community leaders community to the literacy issue in our area were brought together. This festive afternoon featured fabulous fashions from jae apparel to heart-warming stories to raise awareness and funds to make an impact in reducing low-literacy rates in the Greater Los Angeles area. |
