AmeriCorps members improve lives, strengthen communities, and foster civic engagement through one year of service. These members teach people to read and build enduring volunteer programs.  The Network is only one of 6 sites in the country to house the highly acclaimed Literacy*Americorps program.  Each year we recruit and train 15 AmeriCorps members and send them to literacy provider sites through an RFP process.  Members comes from all walks of life.  They are often college or post-graduate students who want the experience of working in a non-profit for a year.  Each member receives a stiped of $12,500.

Service Sites for Literacy*AmeriCorps members are Chrysalis-Santa Monica, Chrysalis-Downtown Los Angeles, Center for Lifelong Learners, Burbank Adult School, East LA Skills Center, St. Margaret’s Center, and Chrysalis-Pacoima.
