Motheread®
Motheread®, Inc. is a nationally acclaimed private, non-profit organization that combines the teaching of literacy skills with child development and family empowerment issues. Parents and children learn to use the power of language to discover more about themselves, their families, and their communities.

Using children’s books, adult poems, and narratives as the basis for instruction, classes provide a format for developing skills in all four areas of literacy: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. This nationally acclaimed instructional model and curriculum have been adopted for use in a wide variety of settings, including family literacy, Adult Basic Education, Head Start, Title I, Even Start, parent education, community-based literacy, Parents as Teachers, library, and correctional.
